You’re planning a visit to Barcelona in August? Let me suggest a couple of interesting exhibitions:
Exhibitions opening in August 2018
Fiesta Major de Gracia
Now this is where the citizens of Gracia get to go wild. Various streets participate in a decoration competition – and, of course, everyone wants to be the biggest, the most colorful, and the most creative. So you might start in a street with an Alice in Wonderland theme, and end up in a neighboring one, reminding you much more of the little Gallic village from the Astérix comic books. Beware, though: Some streets might go for zombies or a Jurassic Park motif, if the past years are any indication. We’ll have to see what they come up with this year. When: the exact date is to be determined
A Month of Vacation for Barcelonians
August is a special month… because it feels like all the Barcelonians have left the city! Small and large companies and stores, restaurants and bars – many of them will close for company-wide holidays. But don’t worry: The stores in the city center, the sights, larger chains, and many restaurants will remain open nonetheless.
