Erotic Museum of BarcelonaMy rating: 3.5 stars+ The people who work there are incredibly friendly and have a positive attitude – you’re welcomed into the place! As this was my first visit to an erotic museum, I was pleasantly surprised: It’s not lewd at all, but informative instead.
- Cost/benefit: For what you get, the price might be a bit high, but the museum is privately owned and operated, and the place is run by the income from admissions alone. There’s a lot of history here – and, for some, perhaps not quite enough… well, eroticism.
Note: For first time visitors to Barcelona, there are other, more important museums. For repeat visitors, this is a good alternative!

And what's there to see?
The Erotic Museum of Barcelona has a surprisingly large amount of history to offer! It shows you how intercourse was depicted from ancient times to the current day. There are also little excursions into the world of the Kama Sutra, Japanese depictions of oversized genitalia (known as “shunga”), and the beginnings of Spanish-Catalan pornography – from the 1920s! The artwork also tells a story about Spain and Barcelona. More recently, the museum acquired two works by Picasso, and it generally tries to focus on the connection between eroticism and the city of Barcelona. At the end of the tour, there’s a room of record holders – prepare to be amazed!
